What is Japanese knotweed?
Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum) is an extremely invasive plant species that originated in Asia. It was introduced to North America and Europe in the 1800s as an ornamental plant, and today it can be found in nearly every continent.
Japanese knotweed is particularly troublesome because it can grow up to 10 feet tall and produces a dense network of roots that can extend up to 20 feet deep. This plant can quickly take over an area, crowding out native plants and animals.
If you spot Japanese knotweed, do not attempt to remove it yourself; contact us and we will help.
